class cancelled last night...

and we weren't notified. It wasn't such a big deal for me, the college is only 5 minutes away. Some of my classmates make up to an hour commute to get to class and they were a little pissed they weren't notified.

I think shit happens, but than again, I didn't drive an hour. Do you think a professor should have to contact students to let them know if there is going to be a cancellation? What happens where you all go?

I live about 30 minutes from school. I would be highly pissed if class was cancelled and I was not notified. That is miles put on my car, gas used, and time away from home that was unnecessary.

We are called if class is cancelled.

I live 25 minutes away, and I am really pissed when class is cancelled without notice. Students here are given a campus email, and that email is provided to the profs.

I probably wouldn't think to check the email before class, lol, but then the blame would be on me.

The school I go to has a campus wide policy that students aren't required to be notified if a class is cancelled. Most profs but a note on the door of the class, some will email. I don't know of one that actually calls.

I would be highly pissed off if I drove a distance and then it was cancelled.

I hate when they don't announce or e-mail cancellations. At one time I commuted 45 mins each way and it drove me crazy when it happened because it was a waste of a couple of hours.

Most of my profs make announcements or e-mail but there is no set policy for them to do so.

We all spoke with the prof about it tonight. She is going to contact two people in the class and they will contact the rest of us if there is a cancellation.

We would get an email. Or if the entire school is closed like the other night with the hurricane, they post a notice on the college website on the home page.

I've never been emailed about a cancelled class. They always put a note up on the classroom door.
It would be nice if we could be notified, but honestly, many of my classes have 300 or 400 people in them, and I don't know that there is a good way to contact all of them. Email for those with computers, but I know I'm not able to check my email before each class.
