My son is 11 1/2, and until now I haven't really done the whole pocket money for chores thing cos he just didn't get it. But I think he is maturing a little, and is now at that age where he thinks money is never-ending, coupled with the 'why the heck should I do that' attitude. Hence, I think it is time.
Teaching monetary responsibility is one area my parents kinda let us down. We never really understood where it came from, what it was for or if indeed there was any. My brother and I are both still useless with money.
So, would you start with chores that are worth a particular amount, and add it up at the end of the week for each chore completed, or is it better to have a set weekly amount, and if the chores are done they get no pocket money?
Any links would be greatly appreciated :D
