Hey M,
I was the only person from the old board to NOT order this thing. Everybody raved about it though, so I'm tempted.

I'd offer to send you mine, but I've already got it loaned out!

no back pain using this? I'm so use to using my OTSBH that I haven't tried other things. This looks great, There was another one with a pouch thing that I looked at also.

I'd like to know about the back pain also. Harrison loves the Baby Bjorn but it's starting to kill my back. Does it come with pictures and instructions for different positions? Has anyone purchased the black one? Does it fade with washing? I need more RL testimonials before I spend that much.

It did not hurt my back when I was carting a 25 lber. The weight of the baby sits on your hip, so it's the most ergonomic of the carriers IMO. And it's better for older babies than a sling IMO as well, since it lets their limbs hang free and it's really secure.

Several women on my other board purchased the hip hammock and the maker actually offers personal help getting them fitted (via phone or email). It comes with instructions - they are printed right on the belt.

I don't have a black one - I have the zebra tapestry one. It is so gorgeous. I also know people who got the hemp and like it a lot.

You can PM me if you have other questions. Everyone I know who has tried it has liked it.

What is the weight limit? I mean really... I have a Bjorn that says 30ish pounds, but there is no way my back could stand that!

I think the HH has a weight limit of 30 as well. But keep in mind the weight is on your hip, not suspended from your shoulders.

I have used it with my 30lb 3-year-old. Works great, doesn't hurt my back. Definitely can be used to much higher weights than the baby bjorn. Can also be used with much longer/taller kids than the bjorn.

I just bought one of these and I really like it. My son had totally outgrown Baby Bjorn. He's 23 pounds, 29 inches and does well in the HH. Plus, I think he likes the angle better. He can see around him, but is closer to me at the same time, then he was in the Bjorn.

I'm thinking about one, but it says to select for right/left handed parent. Does that means it can only be used on one side? I think I'd end up in pain if I couldn't switch back and forth.
