Jealousy

So my 14 month old is extremely jealous of any attention I pay his siblings. If either Rain (9) or Daris(2) sits in my lap, he freaks out and runs over to scream, push, pull, and pinch to make them get off me. I've tried holding him and another child and he is still not satisfied. Has anyone ever dealt with this and how? He is not horribly reasonable about it.

My 2 yo is like that about my 9 yo. I just tell her it's his turn to sit with Mommy and she'll have to wait. If she tantrums, she tantrums--it's his turn.

Same here - my 2 yo freaks out when I'm holding someone else's baby, or if my 7 yo son sits on my lap. She actually tried to kick the dog in the head the other night when the dog was laying on the couch with us and laid her head on my lap.

On the other hand, it never bothered my son at all when he was younger.

I just let DD have her fit, or cry for a bit if she has to...actually, she seems to be getting a bit better about it in the last few months. Friends of mine with kids who were like this tell me they do grow out of it by age 4-5....;)
