Just curious to see how many of your b/f babies like to suck their thumb. Ds is determined he finally figured it out today he prefers it over his pacifer just wondering if it is more common in b/f babies.

Well, she sucks her thumb, but she also sucks on her other fingers at the same time! She never liked pacifiers, however.

Ds#2 adamantly refused a pacifier. He sucks two fingers.

DD is a thumb sucker, and a finger sucker. Every ultrasound we had she had a thumb in her mouth. And she never would take a paci. It took her a while after birth to figure out the thumb thing, but now she has again.

My dd won't suck on a paci or thumbs. Since she is nearing 12 months, I seriously doubt she'll start now! She also doesn't have a lovey. I think my boobs are her lovey. :witeboobs

thanks yea he is still sucking on his two fingers they are easier for him to get too. He tries so hard to get this thumb though I just hope it doesn't' become a long habit.

heps, mine does that too! :lol I have to pry it out of her mouth and replace it with my nipple!

In every ultrasound except maybe the one where she was just a bean, she was sucking her thumb. When she was born, she had a water blister on each hand- from sucking her thumb in the womb. I tell you, she is determined.

It was a huge triumph for her when she figured out how to get thumb in mouth on her own. That is also the EXACT time she started sleeping through the night. And I'm not looking THAT gift horse in the mouth! :lol

Neither of mine. DD likes to chew on her fist every now and then. I kept thinking it was a feeding cue at first but she wouldn't latch on. Guess she just likes to gnaw sometimes.

My older dd sucked her thumb and still does, she just turned 4 and I hope within the next year we can wean her from it.....maybe????

My younger dd took a paci for 6 mos, and now doesn't really suck anything but boobs! She does have to sleep with a cloth burp rag, she has claimed it for her lovey.

My 7 month old ds is an avid thumbsucker. He found it at about 3 or 4 weeks old and he's been going at it ever since. He never took a paci.

My almost 7 mo old is also a thumbsucker. He never would take a paci but as soon as he found that thumb he was happy. He also tries to stick it in his mouth when he is nursing sometimes when I take it out he has a fit. :wtf

DS#2 is 4 months old now and very well would have been a thumbsucker but I just pull it out of his mouth gently when he starts sucking on it. He was sucking his thumb in one of his ultrasounds too!

He is not too fond of the soother either but will take it for a few minutes then spits it out just before he goes to sleep.

My 8 month old DD is a thumbsucker! She loves her thumb..its so cute when she's tired she sucks her thumb and holds a sock in her other hand up to her face! Yes, it must be a sock too :D

He sucks, and chews on his thumb a lot, but occasionally does the fingers. He won't use a pacifier.
