For those of you that did/do use "baby cereal"

What brand and kind did you use and why?
I'm thinking Gerber because they are a trustworthy company, but I also hear that Carnation (Nestle) is supposed to be easy on the tummy.

My SIL says Milupa is what she used for her two DD's because of it being easier on their system.

opinions? facts?

I bought some organic baby cereal by Earth's Best and ds wouldn't touch the stuff. I tried Gerber and he likes it so that's what we're sticking with now. I never heard of the other kind you mentioned. I'm sure it's all pretty much the same.

I used to mix Earth's best rice cereal, and later Oatmeal cereal, with expressed breastmilk. They never took it any other way.

we use gerber because it's all that is sold in the cheap grocery store i go to. but i feel guilty about it because my friends feel it is a very unethical company. they knew someone who had their child's life insurance through the gerber grow-up plan, and the child died, and gerber wouldn't pay anything because of some fine print. my friends feel the company is unethical to play on parents' fears and not state clearly that the benefit is significantly less if your child dies when still young.

so i think i'd go with another company if you have options.

We didn't start out with cereal, but my dd loved it for a late night snack. We used Gerber because she liked it.

Heinz baby cereal, a neighbor's daughter refused to eat baby cereal, but WIC gave her 4 boxes a month anyway, so she gave me all the cereal she had. I have yet to buy cereal, and have actually donated 8 boxes that I got.
