View Full Version : my baby is just funny
My ds is almost one (9 more days) and he has started this weird little habit of coughing when he wants to nurse. It's a really fake cough and it goes away as soon as he latches on.
It is the funniest damn thing. He just cracks me up when he starts his little fake cough. It's like he is saying ummmm mom, lets get with the boobs.
I was telling my husband about it and he didn't believe me, but then we all went to bed and ds woke up a couple of hours into the night and started this fakey cough and then latched on. My husband just started giggling. It was to cute.
I just had to share with someone. Anyone else have a funny little kid?

That is sweet. Where did he pick that up?
DD says mi mi's? and then laughs when she gets them.
Yesterday at the grocery store I put a pack of strawberries in the cart. Dd got them and was holding them. I told her she couldn't have any til we got home. We got up to the check out and I tried to take them. She put hem to her chest and starts yelling "mine,my strawberries". The checker asked if she could have them. DD repeated the yelling "mine, my strawberries". People were laughing. I took them and let the checker scan them and gave them right back. She is 20 months old. She held those strawberries all the way home. :lol
She loves fruit.

My DD grabs the collar of my shirt and looks down my shirt as if to say :"Hey! I know they're in there and I want some milk." It's the funniest little expression on her face when she does this.

DS has this thing lately that if he sees my bare breast (getting out of the shower, getting dressed, etc) he MUST nurse right then. He grabs onto my leg, reaching up and looking adoringly at my boob. He will not let go until I pick him up and let him nurse. Then in about 2 seconds he's done. :dunno ...but it's so cute :love.

DS will be 1 in two more days!:crybaby
He has developed the habit of lunging his hand down the top of my shirt just to make sure "his" boobies are still there. He'll grab each one and then take his hand out and go back to whatever else he was doing. Oh, and he only does this in public when there's lots of people looking! He doens't want to nurse, just to check and make sure the boobs haven't gone anywhere.:lol
Another cute thing he has been doing lately is humming. I find it to be very odd that he hums and nuses, but whatever. We play a little game where he makes a series of hums and then I make the same pattern, then he laughs and does it again.
My husband came home today and stood at the door and listened to us for a while. I could hear him cracking up. When the baby got done and we went into the livingroom he looked at our son and said "so you gave your mom a hummer". Possibly inappropriate, but I thought it was f-u-n-n-y.

We must have the same kid. My dd hums through food (and when falling asleep) and she "coughs" for food. She just turned one.

I don't find it particularly cute (especially when it happens in public), but my son has started trying to lift up my shirt when he wants to nurse.
When he's hungry for food, he smacks his lips and goes "mmmmm"
