Nothing too extensive. Just a few hours a week, mainly on the weekends. (We could use the extra $$!)

I applied for a pt receptionist job at the Gay and Lesbian Community Center. They're supposed to call next week.

Wish me luck!

Good luck. Before I got preggo, I was seriously considering doing a PT receptionist job on the weekends as well. Not only would it be nice to have some $$, but also it would have been nice to have the adult social interaction as well.

Hope you get it.

I think the key to a part time job is to get one that you will enjoy. Even though you may benefit from the extra money, if it is something that you are miserable doing, it will not work out. A receptionist job for the Gay and Lesbian Community Center sounds pretty cool. It would be a lot of interaction with different people which is always great.

I am saying all this because I just recently had an interview for a "reservations agent" for a resort here in the Poconos. Basically it is a sales position that pays a pathetic $8 with major high stress (supervisors listen to your calls, you have quotas, etc.) Yes, the pay is more than say working at the local health food store or a gift shop but the point for me is just not to make extra money, but to have an ENJOYABLE experience being away from the grind of the kids, housework, pets, etc.

I am still searching myself. Since I live in a rural area, there are not a lot of opportunities. I may just look for a volunteer opportunity at a cool place just to get out of the house an evening or two a week.

I hope you get that job; it sounds great!

Good luck! I'd love to get out of the house for a few hours each week, but will probably wait until the kids start school so the daycare rates don't suck me dry.

:ITA. I had this awful telemarketing part time job for about 2 weeks. The were so anal about being there 5 mins till six (even though of course you didn't get paid for those 5 mins), and one time the car took a shit, I had to walk, made it there 3 mins till 6 and they sent me home :eyepop. There were other aspects of that job that also sucked, but that was the straw that broke the proverbial camels back.

That sounds like an excellent job you applied for there though. Good luck!!! :).

Good luck i ahve been looking for one myself. I think the adult conversaton is the key other than it being soemthing that ypu are going to enjoy. I was just looking at a daycare that is looking for help. I need to work somewhere that I can bring ds though so I think I will be going back to daycare's I don't know we need the extra$$.
Good Luck;)

Well, I got a call yesterday afternoon. I have an interview with the director next week. :)

The extra money will come in handy, but I really just need some human contact that doesn't involve conversations pertaining to the latest Bionicle or episode of Zabomafoo. :lol

The job sounds great, and exactly what I'm looking for. I'm a "people" person, so I know I'd enjoy it. The hours will be predominantly on the weekend, and 2-3 hours on Friday evenings, so dh could watch the kids.
