You can still hold all the beliefs you have without attending church. Give yourself the freedom of that. You aren't going to hell for not meeting up with people in a building once a week.

I think they just recently proved that The Big Bang actually happened, right? Click here to enlarge. I'm not an atheist (most days) but you know...science has many of the answers to the questions that you're talking about.

It is weird to think that some day I will not be, anymore.
But not any weirder, at all, than the fact that I didn't used to be, either. And I wasn't bothered by not having been born, so I figure it won't bother me to go back to that. Click here to enlarge

ďI donít know why we donít create some sort of system where we could train [Syrian refugees] to then go back to their own country and then fight for that country. Doesnít somebody have to stay in the Middle East and make the Middle East a better place to live?Ē

Exactly. Click here to enlarge And we don't need some asshole standing up in front of us on Sunday telling us to behave. We behave because it is the right thing to do.

Especially an asshole who would condem a child to eternal damnation because he or she isn't a christian. And then the christians who swear the bible is THE WORD OF GOD. Ummmm no.....it's a series of chapters which have already undergone numerous translation which King James commisined 57 or 58 scribes to re-translate it so the it's "not too harsh or not too soft."
And if God did write it, why the fuck does he keep referring to himself in third person?

There's so many contradictions in that book, and so many other books the church left out, how anyone can say it's THE WORD OF GOD is beyond me.

UGH.

I love my life, my kids, my family and everything I have done but to have it end in nothing? Well that just doesn't seem right. I feel like there has to be something because then this is all for nothing, kwim?

*lost*

Sorry, my thoughts are so jumbled.
Your life isn't worthless and devoid of meaning. You just have to learn how to have meaning without a church or a bible telling you to. It's strange but frankly, I fucking love science Click here to enlarge and I find so much wonder and amazement in everything they're discovering and figuring out every day, how can that not be meaning? Look at everything that has perfectly aligned to make ME. To make my son, the flowers in my yard, the technology I use daily, the act of sex (YAY) and the feelings of love and anger and hate and frustration. All of it. It's just amazing. I don't need a god to tell me to delight in these wonders, it happens regardless of my religious affiliations.

Click here to enlarge Try different churches. Find someplace that emphasizes love and community over everything else. You just need to find your "home."
