So I had my third IUI yesterday, the first with Clomid. Or, as my mother puts it, I had another date with my new friend from California.
I found out this time that they're going to give me an ovarian scan on Monday- one week after insemination.
The nurse said they might be able to tell a little bit if I might be pregnant from that scan since the follicle would collapse if I wasn't and might hang around if I was. They'll also do a progesterone test on Monday.
I don't know how much stock I put in the scans though-- the day I had my second IUI (and got pregnant), they did a scan as kind of an afterthought right before the procedure and the doctor said it didn't look like I had ovulated at all, that he couldn't see the follicle, and that, based on what he saw, he wouldn't do the IUI except that we had already thawed the sample and "might as well." Oops.
Has anyone had experience with the ovarian scan? Anyone have any idea how reliable they might be?
