question about potty training

When we are at home we do just fine, he goes to the potty whenever he needs to. But, when we go out he's a little nervous about going to the potty there. He doesn't want to wear diapers anymore so we don't force it on him. Actually we like the idea! The question I have is what do you do when your child has an accident at a store, restraunt or anywhere public?

Defiantely keep extra clothes with you when you go out but I'm sure you already do. When dd would have an accident, she would be upset so I would console her and tell her that it was okay, we would get her cleaned right up. Get her into some new clothes and tell her next time if she feels the urge she needs to let me know so we can rush to the bathroom. I think we only had accidents a couple of times.

We keep extra clothes and underwear with us at all times. I even have a little tote box in my trunk for accidents. I'm thinking more along the lines of when they have an accident and they leave a "puddle". On carpet, seat, floor whatever. Me and Ds don't go out to often, but last night we went out to dinner and I was sitting there and in my mind I'm thinking what if he had an accident right here. We also went to a Magic castle and I was thinking the same thing. He didn't have an accident those two times but I was curious what would someone do if this happened to them. The obvious reason would to tell someone but really how would you go about doing that?
