My first is significantly speech delayed and has a phonological disorder so my perception might be whacked Click here to enlarge


He is in public preschool and learned his alphabet, which he has been singing enthusiastically at home.


The 2 year old (25 months) has picked it up and sings it too. By herself. 6 months ago she didn't say hardly a word.

Normal monkeying around, or is that RARE?

Yes He Is Normal

Yes it is normal for children to copy other children, but you can also help them learn through singing songs, such as the alphabet song, numbers songs and rhymes. Even begin the first steps of reading skills.

Yes, it's normal. DS picked up alphabet sounds and sight words at a very early age just from listening to what his sister was doing.
