My NP had been on Cymbalta and was the one who suggested it. (Air Force)

That is where the problem lies. My job, according to my immediate boss, is both. I carry a .3FTE as a provider. Meaning, without the sickcall mission, I already carry a 1/3 load as a provider. That places a wrench in the system when I am REALLY in my current position to be a Head Nurse. Add on the sick call mission and I have just been floundering. The previous head nurse had to do the same thing and we hit critical mess with this setup when I arrived. There were staff issues he was ignoring. They blew up when I arrived. If my immediate boss does not let me be the head nurse, the O6 nursing level is pondering moving an RN into the position, which will force the issue. I don't want to fail at this job, but it sure isn't set up for success.

This going to be a better week. I hope.

I'm glad nobody holds the depression thing against me. I feel like I am supposed/expected to not have these problems.

The incidence of depression among women physicians is the same as in the general population, and I wouldn't think it would be that different for NPs. I definitely want my health care providers to be treated for any of their medical problems, whether it's depression or diabetes or something else!

Shit hit the fan at my workplace. Our nurse manager resigned. There was a tremendous upset among all the nurses and providers, and administration actually listened. It ended up with our beloved nurse manager returning with the promise that she will have to do only her job not hers and another as well, and her boss (whose bright idea it had been to restructure things to begin with) ended up losing her job over it.

I guess sometimes, appropriate things happen to people.
