Breastfeeding and daycare

I am just curious, how much bm do you leave with your child? Are they on a schedule or on demand? Do you try to leave extra?

I think I am going to have to compose a letter to a parent but I kind of want to establish a norm from people I know have their kids' best interests at heart.

An amazing charity

When Linus first started daycare, I left enough bottles of still-liquid EBM for him to have 4 ounces every...2 hours or so?...and a couple of frozen 4 ounce bottles as well, for them to defrost as needed, until we all knew exactly what he was going to take. After a week or so, the staff was familiar with his personal feeding preferences, and I left enough for that (I think he took four 4-ounce bottles most days when he was very little? I forget already).

I always tried to leave extra, but my dd never really drank much esp since i went and nursed her at lunch time. my kids were always on demand when they started, but settled into a schedule pretty quickly.

I used to leave 20 oz with her a day, and sometimes she would drink it all and sometimes only 16 oz. It depended on the day.

oh, and I usually just left 2-3 oz bags of ebm. it warmed quickly and was about all my kids would take in a sitting.

My babies were always with DH but I think I can still answer this Click here to enlarge. I left three 4oz bottles of milk and that was almost always fine, but he had access to 4oz bottles of frozen milk if he needed it.

It's not a feeling, it's a knowing.

I'll buck the trend, I don't think her kids are all that in the cute department. not all kids are cute. they have other attributes that make up for that, but look at tweedle's aiden, that is a cute kid. and your kids mel, those are adorable kids. Her's are average. I wouldn't take a second look passing her on the street.

Ok, the mom situated it. She was leaving 5 3oz bottles, which was enough for baby to have one every two hours. 4 month old baby, was downing them and still hungry. Mom would get a bit pissy if we fed her any earlier than two hours because she is trying to get her to go longer between feedings in hopes of the kid sleeping through the night. I am not there for dropoff or pickup (they are there right before me and come in right after I leave) so I left instructions with my coworker that baby needs more food, which I had mentioned before but never happened. Today baby had 4 oz bottles, plus EBM in the freezer so it was soooo much better. It's amazing the difference an extra ounce makes.
