DH is going through safety training right now. When the person giving the training is reading from the Power Point and mumbling, it sucks. No one helped this person prepare for this training! His supervisors just gave him the PPT file and said, "read from this." The poor kid. Click here to enlarge (The younger members often give training on safety stuff, i.e., respirators, fire extinguishers, etc.)

OMG I hate training

Ugh--the training sessions I've been in have always been the equivalent of giving you an hour long explanation of how to read a clock, when it's a digital one. Click here to enlarge. If you have the slightest ounce of intelligence, you figure everything out way ahead of the trainer and then have to sit there trying not to fall asleep as they struggle to explain the concept to the one slow person in the room. ("Wait, I'm confused! You mean this shows both the hours AND the minutes?!!!"). And then bc you are falling asleep and bc they are running behind due to the stupidity, you end up zipping past the one piece of information that is useful to hear ("And if you want to sync your clock up with Greenwich, you just change these 32 settings over here, but we don't have time to go over all of them right now...")

DH gets to give some department heads (the officers, not enlisted members) training on their budgets on Friday. He is NOT looking forward to this. They are so angry at being put in the position of managing their own funds already and doing the training for it is just the icing on the fucked up cake.

OMG, DaWezl - that's it exactly Click here to enlarge

The first 1.5 hours were just doing crap that is perfectly outlined in the user guide. Then when she got to the point of what exactly we would be doing, she moved so fast between multiple folders on mapped drives (that we didn't have provided to us at the start so we could map them also) that I eventually just gave up trying to follow along Click here to enlarge

I gave some sessions to cops on law. It was awful for ALL of us. They didn't want to hear what I had to say and every time I looked up and saw how uninterested they were I wanted to scream. But at least they didn't ask any questions Click here to enlarge

I have to give seminars that involve math for insurance adjusters. I try to come up with the weirdest scenarios and cases possible to keep any interest. Click here to enlarge
