My fate is in their hands!

Awesome Company, that is!

Yesterday I had my final interview with them. I felt like it went really well--I was getting a lot of good signals from them in terms of things they were saying, questions they were asking, etc. But I am going to be a hot mess until I hear back from them. Or rather, I will be a hot mess for a few days, and then I'll probably be despondent. Click here to enlarge (I got the impression that an offer will be made in the next couple of days to their #1 candidate, and that once that person officially starts, they'll tell the others the bad news)

I'm so freaking nervous! Thank goodness I have a lot of time right now to hide out at my house and be a tangled mass of anxiety! Click here to enlarge

It's an assistant manager, working with creative projects so some design work and some project management work. Not only is it at Awesome Company, but it's right up my alley. Click here to enlarge

I'm sort of going crazy now, bc of a really twisty situation that's developed. I originally had applied for a different position before they asked me to apply for this one. In the meantime, one of my references had applied for this exact job. They know I was asked to apply for this job and that I was finalist, and they are totally cool with not being considered if it means I get the job, but Awesome Company doesn't know that.

On Friday, they called up Reference out of the blue (not their normal protocol, they usually set up calls via email) to supposedly talk about their application for the position. Both of us were completely Click here to enlarge about the timing of the phone call, but after freaking out on my end, I began wondering if it might have been a way for Awesome to check me out without having to awkwardly say "Hi Reference, you aren't getting this job, but what do you think about DaWezl?" There were some other little weirdnesses about the conversation that sort of back up that interpretation, but of course I'll naturally have no idea either way until I hear back from the recruiter.

I swear, I've gone through a decade's worth of anxiety trying to get in the door at Awesome Company! Click here to enlarge

And to clarify, Reference applied for the job over two weeks before they asked me to apply. At my first interview, they told me that they had 5 or 6 other candidates they were going to bring in before they decided who was going to come back for final interviews. Reference didn't get called at all during that time frame. So it's not like Reference applied late or anything like that.

Click here to enlarge AMG! That's the best description for how I feel right now too! I'm completely worn out from keeping body parts perpetually crossed! Click here to enlarge

The latest news on the Awesome Company front is that early this morning I got a note from the recruiter apologizing for how long the whole process has taken and telling me that I would hear back no later than Monday. I am feeling very hopeful that this is a good sign, because I feel that if she knew she was going to tell me "no" in the next 3 days, she wouldn't bother checking in with me today. But until then, poor DH has to listen to me trying to parse out the tiniest details, such as whether the exclamation point in the "Hi DaWezl!" greeting is a good sign or not! Click here to enlarge
