DAMN! I made the poll and my choide isn't on there! LOL

We know because of the pathology of the chorion and amnion. There was one chorion and two amnion. That only happens in MZ.

For the record, MZ is commonly known as "identical". DZ is commonly known as "fraternal".

Two chorionic/amniotic sacs is not a clear determination of MZ or DZ. Depending on when the eggs split in MZ twinning, the # of each type of sacs varies.

My choice is-we saw one zygote at a 6 wk us and two heartbeats at a 9 wk us and had white knuckles about cord accidents the rest of the time because they never clearly found the membrane.

My girls had one chorion and two amnion. At the beginning they couldn't find a dividing membrane and thought they shared an amnion and that they would strangle each other before birth.
One of the happiest moments of my life was when the technition found a membrane that seperated them!

Whoa! That is wild! But I can see how it would happen if the eggs were fertilized and ended up right next to each other.

Off to find a link! Click here to enlarge

Mono-mono is still specific only to mz though, right?

Click here to enlarge Good poll Yup, this is interesting.

We were told more than likely MZ, but need DNA testing to know for sure.

Mine look completely different. Similar hair color, but one is straight and one is curly (the youngest one in curls). Different color and shape to their eyes. One is tall and lean. The other is shorter and lean, but more athletic looking.

mine don't look like sisters much less cousins evne Click here to enlarge. But wasn't definate DZ until birth because they never varied more than four ounces in weight. Their placentas actually grew togther or overlapped by delivery, they were an indistinguishable mess. Click here to enlarge

Mine are obviously fraternal, but that doesn't stop the morons asking if they are identical since they "look so much alike". Click here to enlarge

I like to tell them that they are, except for the penis. Click here to enlarge

Just tell them that one has an inverted penis.

I said that they look completely different, so we know (although strangers always argue with us that they look alike), but as newborns, they didn't look completely different. But, we knew they were fraternal from birth because the NICU typed their blood in case they needed a transfusion and one is A+ and the other is O+.

And they had seperate sacs and placentas, too.

A little OT, but I am still amazed at how many drs don't know that id twins can have seperate sacs and placentas. My best friend's sister is having twins and when they saw seperate placentas she was told they were fraternal. My friend looked like she didn't believe me when I told he they could still be id. We have no clue. Two sacs, two placentas, but very similar in looks. I can tell them apart, but most cannot. They have the same blood type, eye color & hair color. They have the same face except one is rounder & one weights 1lb more.

I hate NOT knowing. We'll be doing a DNA one day. Click here to enlarge

Twinkletoes, they are totally identical. I bet ya. If you find out they're fraternal, I'll send you $5. Click here to enlarge

Mine are b/g, so it's obvious. I used to get a lot of "Are they identical?" Yup, just as identical as two different-gendered siblings can be. Click here to enlarge

I haven't hocked Scentsy in forever.
So I decided it was time to change my signature.

The ultrasound tech told us they were DZ but they have the same blood type, have stayed within an ounce or two in weight, and look very similar, so we are thinking they're identical.
