The sad thing about having twins

As my girls' first b'day approaches I've been looking back at pictures of the last year, (and crying a lot I don't want them to grow up!), and I have realized that I was so exhausted the first three or four months we had them home, that it's all a blur. I look at pictures and think "I don't remember this." How sad is it to not remember much of your children's first few months of life. Maybe it's the same with singletons, too, but somehow I think those first months are much harder for parents of mulitples. I'm just glad we took lots of pictures.

I can completely relate, but I think it's that way whether you have a singleton or multiples.

It's amazing the happy and sad feelings you have as they get older. You want them to grow up, but then you wish you could go back.

Glad you got lots of pictures, we did too, and I have a lot of fun looking back at the kids and remembering. Click here to enlarge

Yep, a total blur. I remember bits and pieces, DW even less.

Looking at pictures of *us* from that time is downright scary.Click here to enlarge

Click here to enlarge Sloth. Bags under the eyes, spit-up stained clothes, the tired barely together look. Oh my. Not much has changed now, we just have made it a more polished look. Click here to enlarge

I have this one picture of me from when the kids were...oh...about five weeks old. It was a Sunday morning, none of us had slept at all for the second night running and I was lying on the couch with the kids on me. Bright red eyes, three days beard, looking like I was dead.

And things got worse. Right after that picture was taken, I watched the Wedding Planner. *shudder*.Click here to enlarge

I do not look back on those days with fond memories.

I could have honestly traveled around the world twice with the bags that were under my eyes.

And I didn't take enough pictures Click here to enlarge I could hardly remember who was who half the time.

I'm surprised, that I could tell them apart in pics at that time, but I have a hard time doing it now.

Am I bad mom because I have pics of my girls and I'm not sure exactly which one it is? Click here to enlarge

BK, my girls are fraternals, and we still have a hard time telling them apart in those early pictures.

I guess misery really does love company, because I feel better knowing we're not the only ones whose lives were a blur for months on end!

Bk, on some of the pics we had to just suck it up and write a close-as-we-can-guess name because we could not figure out who was who!

The whole first year is a blur to me. I see pics of my girls now and realize that they are little girls and not babies. When did that happen?
