One down. One to go?

It's been almost two weeks since Sam nursed. He's not having any part of it. I stopped offering a couple of days ago because it's just hurting my feelings Click here to enlarge

I always said that I would wean them around the same time but I can't let go just yet. There are good things about nursing just one. It's become more personal b/w Mary Beth and I as I really get to concentrate on her, and cuddle her, stroke her hair, look into her eyes, etc. Because with the tandem nursing, they're both on my bigass pillow in the football position but laying on their sides kind of. So this way, I get to cradle hold her and just enjoy it.

The bad part is that now I have to remember which "side" we're on. For 14 months I never had to think about that Click here to enlarge

I'm still sad and had a good couple of hard cries about it. But I'm okay. Just sad.

I'm doing it because she asked but I really do her.

Thanks for the update.Click here to enlarge I don't have any words of wisdom for you...I'll just say that eventhough Sam has weaned,I know you'll continue to treasure these moments with Mary Beth. Click here to enlarge What a special time for you!
Say,does Sam still climb on the pillow and hang out while Mary Beth nurses? Any sign of a big milestone coming?

I heart you, Megs. I can understand your sadness, yet guilty happiness over your babies growing up. You've been an inspiration. Click here to enlarge

to remember "what side" we are on i use a cheap elastic bracelet and switch it to the side we will start on next feeding. you can also (gasp) use a scrunchie.

At least if he changes his mind, it would be easy to pop him back on since you're still lactating for Mary Beth. Click here to enlarge

I hate side-minding, too. Click here to enlarge

I do the boob-lift. It seems to be pretty reliable. The side that's lighter is the side she last ate off of. Click here to enlarge

You are an inspiration.

Click here to enlarge I do the boob poke. Whichever is firmer is the one we need to use.

A small pin on your clothing can also help you remember - except I'd forget to switch the pin! Click here to enlarge
