I'm ready to quit this whole nursing thing.

Logan won't stop biting me. My nipple look and feel like ground beef. Click here to enlarge I've done all the thing kellymom suggests and nothing is working. When I tell him no biting and set him down he just laughs. He thinks it's hysterical. Click here to enlarge I dont' know what else to do but i do know that nursing is not even remotely pleasurable or relaxing anymore. I have an LLL meeting on monday so I'll ask there. Hopefully someone can help. I don't know how much longer I can keep doing this. Click here to enlarge

Biting sucks Click here to enlarge
How long has he been biting?

My kids weren't big biters, but the few times they did I thought my chi~chi's were going to shrivel up insided themselves.

I'm certain others here have had bigger biters, I'll bet they'll give yousome good info.

It's been about 2 weeks now. It started of fwith just a nip here and there and now it's every session. Unless he's sleep nursing. No rhyme or reason either. Sometimes it's at the beginning, others it's at the end. Click here to enlarge

Click here to enlarge I have a biter too. It sucks. It helps if I want until he's reallllly hungry.

I'm currently dealing with a bite injury that won't heal too. That's fun. Click here to enlarge

Do you notice tension building in his jaw?

Try this: Nurse in a place with as few distractions as you can muster. While he nurses, watch him like a hawk. If you notice he is losing interest, and especially if you notice tension building in his jaw, remove him from the breast.

Be consistant with your reaction. If you choose the put him on the floor method, do it the exact same way every time. Also, remind him when you start to nurse to not bite Click here to enlarge.

This is a phase, a painful phase, and it will pass.

I've been watching for the tension. I don't see it. What I've been doing for the past few days is nursing in the recliner with the tv off. I tell the girls to play upstairs or outside quietly. I've been keeping my finger right next to his mouth and watching him very close. At that first pinch I stuff my finger in between him gums. So far what he's been doing in biting down, which isn't so bad, but then he pulls his head back and slides my nipple in between his gums. Click here to enlarge And I am consistant with the consequence. He get put on the floor and I put his boobie away. I think he's to little for it to phase him though because all he does is laughs.

Be carefull to keep your hand ready to stop him moving his head back. I had better luck bringing my biter forward and smoshing his nose into my breast to break the bite then sticking my finger in his mouth. The latter seemed like a game to him.

My 4.5 month old dd is doing the same thing. I dread what it will be like when she gets teeth if she's still doing it. She is very easily distracted and will turn her head with my nippler tightly pinched between her gums. OW!! I've been loudly uttering OUCH!! when she does it and taking her off. Usually she just gives me a beautiful big smile. Brat. Click here to enlarge
