Still trying to wean

And it isn't working. I can't convince ds to give it up. At all.
I would really like to wean because I suffer from headaches and the meds my doc wants to try are not compatible with breastfeeding.
I don't particularly want to wean, but these headaches have gotten past the point of annoying and are downright miserable. I really need to get onto a preventative medication and soon.
Does anyone have any tips on how to wean?

And M is 2, in case you were wondering.

With a 2 yr old, with you needing to take medication, I would just cut him off cold turkey and deal with it, especially if your dh will help out with distracting him when he usually wants to nurse.

If you don't want to do that, I started by limiting the times ds could nurse. When he was down to naps and bedtimes, I cut him off cold turkey. He was always tired enough that he would go on to sleep without it, even though he was fussing for it.

I agree with all of this. I am actually going thru the same situation right now. I am trying to wean my two yr old daughter, and she is not happy .She's always been a huge fan of the booby, and although I cut her down to one time before bed, nothing seems to completely work but cutting her off completely, cold turkey. We've been three days with no boob so far.
