breast problem

i am a mom of a 2.6 yrs old child.
now i have a problem that i have stopped feeding my baby since he was nearly 1yr because it stopped.
but i see that when i press my boobs some drops of milk still come out.
can this create any sort of disease in me.
is it necessary to pump my boobs daily for those few drops.

I'm doing it because she asked but I really do her.

question about bf and weaning

I am not considering weaning any time soon (want to bf for at least a year, prob. more) but I have been wondering about something. I breastfed my dd for 5 weeks and when I stopped, I was painfully engorged for several days. If I slowly wean, say drop 1 feeding every so often over the course of weeks or even months, will I be able to avoid the painful engorgement?

Hi.
With my first son, I nursed for 15 mths and after a few mths, I was still able to get milk. My dr. said, my thyroid gland not working properly. I stopped leaking an mth later, but I still have the problem now 6 mths after finishing up with my second child. The best thing is to see your doctor to know the exact reason. Good luck

That's pretty long. I did not experienced that but I remember my milk returned after a year my baby stopped because my baby often hold it and wanted to try breasfeeding again. I think its the duty of the mammary gland to function again once its detected the need to function again.

It took that long? I guess you just have to train him to accept the new alternatives..
