Help! Milk supply decreasing!

I just got out of the hospital after being treated for ulcerative colitis. I was prescribed pentasa and prednisone. I have consulted with my lc, and she has given me the green light to contiue nursing (thank doG). The problem, however, is that I seem to have less milk than before. I know this could be stress related, but I can't help but think that it might be the meds. Since today is Saturday, and I can't get in touch with the lc, I thought I'd post this to see what you all thought.

thanks.

Water, nurse often, eat oatmeal and start taking fenugreek.

And if that isn't a good enough list, try and relax, heh.

How old is your baby?

My son is a little over four months old. As if I didn't have enough on my digestive problem plate... I can't eat oatmeal. The docs are pretty sure that I have celiac disease as well. :crybaby

Are there wheat additives in fenugreek? If not, I could take that.

I'm not sure you will *need* any galactogogue like fenugreek.
Nursing and taking care of YOU,will probably be enough to bring your supply back up. Could you have a nurse-in? Could you do ALOT of skin to skin contact?

I'm not sure if the meds you mentioned could possibly have an effect on your supply. I highly recommend you contact an IBCLC or an LLL Leader and go over your concerns with her.

Remember to drink extra! The warm weather and nursing increase your need.
