I had milk toast growing up - it was the go-to breakfast if I wasn't feeling well. Click here to enlarge but my mom made it like this:

http://www.tammysrecipes.com/node/3241

but without sugar - just buttered toast

Add me to the people who've heard of milquetoast but not the thing with a creamy white sauce on toast. Blargh. Click here to enlarge

Although my dad used to like sos - shit on a shingle, aka creamed chipped beef on toast.

no actually i think my grandpa's thing was more like sextillion's thing than Wikipedia's thing.

and we had shit on a shingle growing up too. I made it for my family once and they hated it.

I do love Welsh rarebit on bread though. Click here to enlarge
