No, I think it's because Idgie has always been likable and even keeled year after year here.

Probably. Because I AM an asshat, and generally not very well-liked.

And I don't have that pass-thingy going for me. Click here to enlarge
You could always say Axl Rose made you do it.

I think it comes down to being liked. I think it's fast and I think her wife is a tad young. But I like Idgie so I'm not going to pass judgment.

And I agree Mendy. It does have a lot to do with the fact that Idgie is well liked. (I like Idgie too!!!)

But isn't that always what determined flames around here?? How well liked the potential flamee was? Click here to enlarge

i just think if someone has been relatively normal and stable the entire time you've known them, you tend to give htem the benefit of the doubt when they do something that might seem a little rash. If someone is a complete nutter and acts like they are manic 99% of their life, you tend to think "oh here he/she goes again" when they do something that seems rash.

and this is exactly why she likely didn't want to discuss it here.

That's a great theory except people HAVE said stuff. She clearly isn't getting a free pass on this issue.

But I agree with whoever said that if you've behaved normally and made good decisions consistently over the years, it's not hard for those who are inclined to give the benefit of the doubt. Click here to enlarge Maybe that looks like a free pass when not every single person piles on to criticize. But I think she got plenty of criticism.
