My kids had their first full day of school today. Dh had a few days off but hours back to work tomorrow.

First day home alone in almost forever.

I am so sorry! I would go insane. Or get more insane.

Last summer the kids did a week of sleep away drama camp and DH was one of the counselors so I had 6 days home alone. Even though I'm a full time WOHM it was heaven to come home and be alone. Up until then, I had never had a night alone in my house since the kids came along

Other than that one week, I am never home alone Click here to enlarge

I just went to the cafeteria where I work (a community college) and told the manager, with whom I have a friendly nod acquaintanceship, that they should have party potatoes again because I swear they had them once last year, ran out before I got there, and never had them again. And Kyle said "I'll tell so-and-so to put them on the menu for you next week!" and I think he really meant it!

Then I had a conversation with the cashier about Shrek.

I don't have the recipe, but I'm sure it involves things like sour cream and cheese and probably cream of something soup--I suppose it's the same thing as funeral potatoes.

I'm right now baking potatoes in the oven even though it's going to be 105 today.

I have all week off so I can be with the kids because DH has to work and I have barely done any of the things I had planned. Also the kids are driving me insane with arguing.

It's not a feeling, it's a knowing.

I'll buck the trend, I don't think her kids are all that in the cute department. not all kids are cute. they have other attributes that make up for that, but look at tweedle's aiden, that is a cute kid. and your kids mel, those are adorable kids. Her's are average. I wouldn't take a second look passing her on the street.

People who drive 60 mph or less in a 55 mph zone drive me nuts. I don't care about the speed limit. Just get moving.

I was behind a lady on I94 this morning who was passing the 65 mph trucks at 70 mph. In the left lane. On 194. I was hulk smashy.

Insurance doesn't cover dh's brand of blood glucose monitor supplies anymore. We bought out of pocket last time he needed some, and he put off deciding what type he wanted to change to.

Now it's time for more and Dh is being a prick. It's his health, he needs to think about if he wants to go with the brand insurance says they will cover (but barely, like with their coverage it brings the cost down to 60 cents a test strip), or go with a different brand or even a store brand monitor that regular price for test strips is way less than the amt after insurance coverage.

It's not like he will magically be able to test less times a day at some point, or that insurance will all of a sudden start covering a higher % of anything.

I'm betting he's headed toward insulin in the next year (type 2 diabetes) and will need to test many many times a day. So he really needs to be proactive and do some research himself, not just make me do it and then complain about what I decide. Similarly for his food choices to help stabilize his blood sugars a little bit with diet. Really getting on my nerves here.

Some of us like doing the speed limit, sorry but 60 is just fine in a 55. I'd prefer not to get a ticket, I do stay in the slower lanes.

DH and DS just drove up to see DH's parents and sister for 3 days.

They also took the big dogs with them.

It's just me and the frenchie for the next two nights.

I will miss them but it will be glorious to be alone for awhile.
