Service Animal vs Emotional Support Animal

http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/20...0/pets-allowed

On my flight today was a 9 month old German Shepard Puppy (quite large) barked at the gate, owner looked very put together, attractive and well dressed.
Had the vest, though I did not actually read it. Quiet on the flight.

My brother works at Publix. They aren't even allowed to ask if the dog is actually a service dog anymore because it would make someone upset.

An Alpaca in an historic site? wow

Sorry, I'm not a fan of people abusing laws. I have a family members that gets a new "service dog" every couple of years, then rehomes them when she wants a different breed. She has no disability, she just wants to take her dogs everywhere.

I have a friend that takes her non anything dog everywhere including in restaurants and it drives me nuts. She bought it a service vest, it is not a service animal. She also lets people pet it which you shouldn't do to a working service dog.

Blood sniffing dogs are a huge thing with diabetes parents. People spend thousands of dollars to buy them and train them.

I think that service dogs even companion emotional support dogs are wonderful.

If someone's going to take their dog into public places, it needs to be sufficiently well-trained that it's not getting into my space and sticking its nose in my crotch or trying to jump up on me. This isn't a problem with real service dogs, but it's a huge problem with fake service dogs.

That article is hilarious.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.
