Turned 50 in July Click here to enlarge. Working at a Vascular surgeon's office. They also have a med spa. Can you say "free Botox"?

My youngest is almost 18 and a senior this year. Oldest (25) is about to move out, again Click here to enlarge. Younger son (21) changed from pre-med at Temple to Biochemistry. Older daughter (23) is working at a production company in LA. Broke up with my bf of 3 years in January, have been dating another guy since August. We are also taking things really slow. He's also originally from WV so I like to make fun of his little twang. Click here to enlarge

Turned 50 in June. Click here to enlarge DD is now a teenager and DS is 8. Everything else is pretty much the same. Doing a bit of freelance (free/bartering) graphic design here and there, spending hours in the car driving the girl to dance, etc. It's good.

Twin boys are 16 and just learning to drive and that gives me heart palpitations every single time we are in the car. They go to a local STEM-based high school with an IB (International Baccalaureate) program that is kicking their ass, but they are hard workers. They also run cross country and track, which is surprisingly fun to watch.

My daughter is 10 and is pretty musical (plays baritone, piano and sings in choir) and loves to draw. She also really likes to watch people play Minecraft on YouTube, but not play Minecraft.

I work PT from home as a food and beverage journalist for several online and print publications, which isn't as fun as I thought it would be.

18 y.o. ds is finishing his last credit for hs online, while attending a young adult program for disabled kids. He worked a summer job successfully and hopefully will get another p/t job after he's done with school, and then do some community college.

13 y.o. dd is stressing too much about school, playing the mandolin and the cello, just started riding at a new stable, and grew about 4 inches in height and a couple of shoe sizes this last year.

DH & I have been together....shit, since the early 80's. Next year is our 30th anniversary, and we lived together a couple of years before that and slept together a couple of years before that. Click here to enlarge

Aside from middle aged health concerns for both of us (an assortment of kidney stones, diabetes, diverticulitis, plantar faciitis, wonky knees, etc.), we are much the same.

Our dog is now 3 and neurotic. She is scared of all kinds of weird things.

Our house is falling apart and no one has the time to care. Click here to enlarge

Same house, same husband, still 2 kids added 2 cats to the mix.

Nicola -- who was 1 when I joined the board -- is 12, in 6th grade and handled the transitioned to middle school like a champ. If we can pull up her reading score by a few points I think she'll make honor roll for the first semester (I just don't know how the one class she's in the resource room will effect that). She is sunshine and light at school according to her teachers and saves all the attitude and drama for me at home. Click here to enlarge She's still active in Girl Scouts and last year earned her Bronze award along with several other girls in my troop. She still bowls and with our local Special Olympics she does swimming and golf. Right now she says she wants to become a chef/cook/baker and that she wants to go to the local vo-tech high school for that program. But apparently the vo-tech's don't have to take kids with disabilities and they will likely deny her based on diagnosis alone. Thankfully I found this out now instead of in two years so we have time to figure out if we want to fight it or find a program that will meet her needs while letting her have a shot at what she says she wants for her career goal (and then get the district to pay for the program as an out of district placement). We're about to enter into the world of braces with her -- which should be lots of fun with her oral aversions and sensory issues.

James is now 8, in 3rd grade and is fully recovered from the Click here to enlarge leg fiasco -- he was able to play baseball in the spring and was thrilled. (he fell from playground equipment last summer and broke his femur in two places - 4 pins, 2 surgeries, months in a wheelchair and/or walker, months of PT -- it was a hell of an adventure). He does Cubs, and plays soccer, basketball and baseball. Baseball is his real love though but dh and I won't let him play year-round yet. He does great in school and is generally a really great kid. His life's goal is to play shortstop for the Yankees. And after he retires from that he's going to be a firefighter/astronaut/doctor depending on his mood.

Dh has the same job, but we're hoping he can find something closer to home - his commute right now is about 90 minutes if traffic isn't horrible. I was laid off from the foundation last summer - the day I announced I was looking on Facebook an old newspaper colleague sent me a job listing at his employer. So I'm now doing the communications/PR thing for a Fortune 50 company. I've been here a year. It's interesting work, the people I work with are great but I'm not sure this is a long-term gig for me. Another couple of years under my belt and I can easily transition to a top communications position at another nonprofit or possibly even at a college/university -- which could come in handy all by itself. Still here. Life here is good. My 12 year old is 5'6". My baby is 3.5 but acts like a preteen. She adores her older sisters. I wish she would just slow down a bit. Simon started kindergarten and was diagnosed with Autism last year. Jakey is doing okay. He picked up a virus and lost ten percent of his weight. We are working at him regaining the weight.
Remember our cunt faced special ed director? She was fired in a glorious way. They led her to believe that she was almost garunteed for a job as principle. She wasn't hired. She missed the hiring season and last I heard still unemployed. She left things a mess. Jakey's IEP and any evidence of it is gone. DPI came through and declared that all the other ieps were done wrong. Fun!

We Bought a Zoo!

Wait..

No.

We bought a house. Oldest graduated from High School, and is now in college, which is so WEIRD to me, because just yesterday, he was a little boy that was crawling into my lap with his 'Bananas in Pajamas' book, begging me to read it to him over and over and over, to the point that I had to hide it underneath the couch. Everyone used to tell me that time would fly by, and I never believed that it would go this quickly!

Anyway. DS2 started HS this year, DD is in 7th grade, they are growing up so fast. Click here to enlarge

I wish PaP would have another baby so I wouldn't feel so old!

Bleedsink, I hope you find a workable solution. The tech center here has been an amazing resource for my kid. Even with an IEP and the resource room she barely passed her regular classes but her tech center classes have all been A's because they engage her. She did graphics last year and won a state award in logo design. This year she is taking horticulture and her flower arrangements look professional. Gives me hope that she is employable Click here to enlarge

Love the updates, especially Dog's.

I'm turning 40 next week Click here to enlarge I'm divorced, it will be almost a year since it finalized. I was struggling for a bit but doing much better now. I'm still finding out crazy shit that happened in my marriage that I had no clue about. Thankful to be out of it.

I had lost about 90lbs and was doing better health-wise, but then I gained 40 some pounds back so now I'm trying to lose that again. I have an in-home daycare and I love what I do (mostly lol, the tantrums and diapers could go by the wayside.)

My kids were babies when I started posting, they are now 16, 16, 15, & 13.

My daughters are juniors and pretty awesome kids, they are both cheerleaders, Abbie is in NHS and plays soccer, Arenne on student council & she is the x-country manager. We have their first college visit in Nov. It goes so fast.

Drew is 15, a freshman, and is way into running and soccer, he was slated to go to State this year until we found out he has a bad stress fracture. We thought it was a strained muscle (according the trainer) and he ran on it for month-he took 7th in one meet running with it. Hopefully it will heal quickly for him.

Colin is 13 and in 7th grade, he also ran x-country. He's been struggling in school-a big part of it is his dad talking him out of taking his meds. It has been a tough situation. And I'm continually amazed I haven't punch anyone in the face yet. Col is an awesome kid, sweet and funny. All of my kids are pretty great Click here to enlarge

Same hubby, same kids, same dog, same house.

Dd1 is almost 17 and having a great time Junior year. unfortunately, "great time"=not doing very well in school. Timing is not her strong suit, apparently, as junior year is the absolute worst time for fuck off, school wise. Thankfully, with some good old fashioned grounding and screaming, she's recovered her grades to high C's and 2 B's for the quarter. She's in some AP/honors classes, so if (when) she gets better grades next quarter, she should get those C's to B's, B's to A's and wind up with a pretty good GPA. She played tennis for the school and is on the anti bullying committee, and really enjoys it.

Dd2 is in 9th, and is on the cheer team. She was voted to the homecoming court and was so excited. She's always been great in school and I worried about the transition from middle school to high school honors classes, but she's getting all A's and seems to be handling it very well. She's struggling with being over scheduled right now and learning to navigate that. Against my advice, along with cheer she joined the key club, young life, hosa, and is still in the ymca leaders club outside of school and youth group through a church.

I'm not working in urgent care anymore. I took a full time, weekday management position with the quality and care redesign department of our health system. It's been an adjustment, I'l leave it at that. Click here to enlarge It's all good though. I love the weekends and evenings off.

Dh's account got moved to another company, so he went with it. He was with his previous employer over 20 years, so it's been an adjustment for all of us. His work is essentially the same, but we aren't too thrilled with the new company, so he's looking for opportunities that can bring him back to his previous company.

I love reading all of these updates, I've missed you whores so much. Click here to enlarge

I got divorced and it was finalized last August, we separated 3 years ago.. I've been with a great guy for 2 years now.

Austin is 17 and a senior working on his Eagle a scout and is joining the Marines after graduation this year.

Taylor is 15 and a freshman. She joined the color guard and has really blossomed and found her passion.

Hayley is 12 and in competitive cheer. It's like a full time job but she's working so hard and excelling in it.

Moved to a rental house about a year and half ago. Working 2 jobs and am stressed most of the time but I'm making it work.

I wasn't a regular poster but I want you all to know that reading posts and all of the knowledge I gained from you all got me through my kids' early years.

My son is a senior in HS and my daughter will be starting HS next year. time is moving crazy fast.

Football player and a cheerleader. They are both really good kids and doing pretty well in school. I am feeling so much anxiety over what college/HS school they will go to next year! I know they will both be fine, but I don't want them to be disappointed if they don't get accepted to where they want to go!

My dog turned 13 in July and I am starting to get sad knowing that he probably doesn't have too many more years left with me Click here to enlarge

I started working out a lot last year and have been going strong - mostly. I had a small set back a few weeks ago b/c I hurt my neck, but am going back tonight. I did a few races/OCRs that were a lot of fun and have a few more coming up!

Will be married 20 years next week Click here to enlarge Nothing to celebrate, but we did
make a pretty nice family Click here to enlarge
