I have fucking fruit flies.

Where are they coming from? I put all the fruit into the frige. I bleached the fuck out of all the drains. I take the trash out every day.

I put a cut up apple into a bottle with a funnel so the fuckers can go in and not get out.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

I see the number of kids in your av. I think you know where fruit flies come from.

The funnel should work after a few days. Did a kid leave a half eaten apple somewhere? Did a potato roll away in the pantry and go bad? Make sure they're breeding in plant soil somewhere (I had that happen once), and cover your drains overnight/when you leave the house if they still seem to be buzzing around them.

Uh, make sure they're NOT breeding in plant soil.

I just repotted my 1 plant yesterday. Not because of the fruit flies but because potting soil is on clearance and it seemed like a good idea.

Boil a big pot of water and pour it down your sink. I know you said you bleached them, but that might have just washed out quickly and some lived, trying to kill them with fire might be worth a shot?

Drano, they’re probably drain flies. There are threads like this every couple of years (one year it was my thread!) Click here to enlarge

Sometime back in mid-September, one of your kids took a bag lunch to school, but didn't finish it. They left the bag buried in the heap of the jackets they needed for those two really cold days but then haven't needed since, or possibly it's inside the backpack that they broke the zipper on, requiring you to run out and find a replacement.

That's where the fruit flies are breeding. HTH!

I have never had fruit flies and I don't remember threads like this in the past. Now that I've posted I will get them.

I'll buck the trend, I don't think her kids are all that in the cute department. not all kids are cute. they have other attributes that make up for that, but look at tweedle's aiden, that is a cute kid. and your kids mel, those are adorable kids. Her's are average. I wouldn't take a second look passing her on the street.

We had them bad last year when I was laid up with a torn up knee. The kids weren't doing the dishes regularly. They are so disgusting.

Try a small dish filled with apple cider vinegar with a drop of dish detergent on top. The vinegar will draw them in, the soap will trap them. And just make sure everything gets cleaned off right away, all fruits and veggies are completely covered or refrigerated, and that they're not breeding in your plants. Mine came in on an orchid I was given and migrated to the sink area. Here, they'll die out once the weather gets cold.

Also- I would put Pine-sol down the drain after dishes and spray it on the dish sponge. That helped a lot.

I'm besieged right now too...they are definitely coming up from my drains. If I keep them all covered it keeps them down. I've drano'd the drains, bleached them too.... I think it must be something to do with climate, I remember it happening a few years back as well Click here to enlargepull
