I guess we have a really good insurance program because ours hasn't really changed at all. Everyone complains about it but damn, some of these stories are crazy. I have a friend that makes very little and her DH lost his job and they are freaking out because they are going to be fined on their taxes if they don't get insurance but they can't afford to get it.

It's not a feeling, it's a knowing.

I'll buck the trend, I don't think her kids are all that in the cute department. not all kids are cute. they have other attributes that make up for that, but look at tweedle's aiden, that is a cute kid. and your kids mel, those are adorable kids. Her's are average. I wouldn't take a second look passing her on the street.

I know someone who opted for the fine and I guess it goes up. She opted because she had no other choice. Even the catastrophic was out of her budget.

the problem is with the insurance companies and the fact that your entire health care industry is still a for profit industry, unlike pretty much every other country in the world. Your health insurance lobby is just as powerful as the NRA and the Oil Industry and those insurance companies are not going to ignore any legal means they have to make sure that their profit margins don't go down.

Until you convert to a non profit, single payer system (again, like the rest of the industrialized world) this is never going to stop being a fuck show.

Mandy is a piece of work and had I not worked for her family at one point, I would have deleted her long ago. I never really experienced that much crazy from one person and I cannot believe what she has said.

She has lupus FTR but it does not excuse her ignorant ass views.

Most of us that voted for this health care reform were hoping we would actually get health care reform that would cause positive changes and protection from this kind of thing. It is only going to get worse here.

Because no politician can actually get single payer past the GOP. It's the first step towards a proper health care system and its as far as they could take it.

If they did pass it it would probably suck as much as Medicare.

We haven't noticed much of a difference, but we have been paying thousands of dollars a year for freaking ever with our "good" insurance. Thank you chronic medical condition which requires all of the durable medical equipment just to keep him alive Click here to enlarge

We definitely use our insurance.

The thing about a CC is it doesn't matter how good or bad the insurance is you are going to use it. It's all bad because it all cost a fortune.

Almost $600 a month here with a $3500 deductible. And that's just dh and the girls. I had to go to my own plan bc we would have to pay a $1200 "fee" for me to be on the plan with them. The affordable care act bullshit screwed us royally and I'm afraid the horse is out of the barn and even if they repeal it one day, it won't get better cost-wise for us.

I agree that it isn't going to get better. It has made things worse and they will only get worse from here on out.

our healthcare system is such a fucking joke. It really isn't going to get any better until we have single payer and that's never going to happen. I am so disillusioned and feeling defeated about everything.

I felt defeated when our president campaigned about GMO labeling and how he would be all for it and then brought Monsanto shits onto his payroll.

i am totally blinded by the fact that my cancerous husband is insurable and i am so happy about that. otherwise, i feel like single payer is the only way to go at this point and it will never happen. it is so frustrating.

Max at least something helpful came out of the mess. I am glad he has coverage.

I am on the bench with Max. Oliver would have exceeded his lifetime cap sometime during surgery #3 and now he can't be denied insurance. We were paying out the nose from 2009 until 2013 around $1000 for just the kids and steep deductibles and dh had to carry separate coverage (his was pretty reasonable, maybe $200 per month but pretty bare bones). He has covered kids from 2013 on at new job but they are changing carriers at the end of the year and I am sure we are about to get kicked in the teeth again, price wise. I can't switch them back to my insurance because now his specialist doesn't take my insurance.

Single payer fan here too.

Lime time.
