chicken Anyone been to the Poconos?

Or live near there? DH and I want to go this summer. We want a cabin type rental for about 3-4 days in July. Any suggestions or warnings?

I'm sure you could find a cabin closer than the poconos. I've been it is nice. A lot of bugs and stars.

Closer to what? Click here to enlargeConsidering that we want to go to the Poconos, what do you suggest that's closer than the actual Poconos?

Never been but now I'm singing that Beach Boys song but instead of Kokomo I'm singing Poconos.

I'll buck the trend, I don't think her kids are all that in the cute department. not all kids are cute. they have other attributes that make up for that, but look at tweedle's aiden, that is a cute kid. and your kids mel, those are adorable kids. Her's are average. I wouldn't take a second look passing her on the street.

Heard the Poconos are beautiful, but never been. I really want a lakeside cabin in Maine this summer.

We stayed here. It was AWESOME. It's literally right outside the state park and a short drive to State College if you need city stuff. https://www.vrbo.com/465129

I haven't hocked Scentsy in forever.
So I decided it was time to change my signature.

My parents have a camp in the Poconos, we're there several times a year. The "Poconos" is a pretty big area, do you have any particular part you want to be in? Specific stuff you want to do?

The Mt. Pocono area is great. Close to lots of nature stuff (Delaware Valley Water Gap with all it's glorious water falls, the mountain hike to the overlook you can see into New Jersey from, etc.) and still with conveniences like Walmart and fast food places (if that's important).

I always say Poke 'yer nose. I have been skiing there in the winter but never in the summer. Helpful, right? Click here to enlarge

Thanks everyone! We have to be in Pennsylvania for a family reunion at the beginning of August, that's why I said the Poconos. We'll have to drive about 2hrs from there.

And because we're old, we want to do something restorative and relaxing. I tend to suffer from depression the last few weeks of every summer, so we're delaying our vacation until the end of our trip to visit family.

Texas isn't at its best in August. In fact, it downright sucks ass in August. A tiny cabin in a mountain forest where it's not still 90F at 10 sounds like paradise to me!
