Don't rent a carseat

You do not know what you will end up with.

We went away for an out-of-town wedding and rented a carseat for ds (3 yo). It was a Graco ComfortSport. All seemed well until I went to install it.

1. Rental car had no owner's manual.

2. Rental car had the type of seatbelts which require a locking clip.

3. Rental car had LATCH anchors.

4. I didn't see LATCH on the carseat, but saw a sticker on the side which said it had LATCH. So I felt around inside, and found out that the LATCH had been drawn up the back, and one of the hooks was in the position where it *appeared* to be the rear tether Click here to enlarge There was just no rear tether anywhere to be found. It was totally gone.

5. There was no owner's manual on the carseat, either.

(Fortunately my nephew has the same carseat and I used that manual and a visual inspection of his carseat to see where the rear tether should have been. Yup, rear tether was just simply not present).

Next time I bring ds's car seat. As you can imagine, I had very little faith in that seat.

I wanted to only we were in a rush to get back to the airport and you don't talk to any of the people when you turn the car in, just jump on the shuttle bus. So I didn't. I think I'll write them a letter, though.

What rental company was this? We rented a seat from Hertz a couple of years ago and the seat was well installed when we picked the car up.

Also...I've never rented a car that doesn't have the car's owners manual in the glove box. What a jackleg thing for the rental company to do.

When traveling on a business trip or traveling through the cities of the country or even beyond its borders, each driver faces a certain degree of inconvenience when his car is not at hand and getting from point A to point B is more difficult than usual. Usually, the first thing that comes to mind is the question: use a taxi or rent a car? A person who is used to his car will be quite uncomfortable using taxi services. Firstly, taxi drivers are constantly eager to talk, and few of them are really able to maintain a fascinating conversation. Secondly, the car after the call has to wait a while, which can lead to delay or loss of time. We offer the best car rental service: https://tlt.ae/business-services/. The best prices and cars.
