Baby Hates Car Seat

How do I get my ten-month-old daughter to tolerate her car seat? I have a baby that despises being in a car. With a trip to Los Angeles (aka The Land of Car Transportation) coming up, I'm wondering if there's anything we can do to make her hate car transportation a little less.

I have no ideas that will work in that short of time frame. What worked for me was having more children, so the older ones could entertain/interact with the baby. Are you going with another adult? If so, you could try sitting in the back next to baby.

Hey! I have had the same issues with both of my children (aged 2 and 3). We set off for a trip last year down to Florida and the car ride was unbearable. I was determined to try and find a solution. So far, investing into a decent kids seat has really made the difference, as well as providing entertainment to keep them occupied in the back!

I had a bit of a difficult time deciding on what to go for, but after some advice, we actually bought two car seats by Evenflo Called the Sprocket Big Kid booster seat. Both kids are now very comfortable and the longer journeys have improved alot. You can read more about it here: https://www.mykidneedsthat.com/best-car-seats-for-kids/

Having some form of entertainment, whether its an iPad, screens in the back headrests of toys to play with can also help massively.

Hope that helps.

Helen :-)

I think it would be more interesting if, while traveling, the child could have his favorite toy at hand. Try reading a bit here https://kidslearningthroughplay.com/ and see if, according to your child interests there are alternative toys to plushies that can keep him entertained while being in the car with you.

Hey Helen, are you happy with the Evenflo brand? Would you recommend it?
Sorry for being off topic. I've been researching these car seats for ages now. And can't make my mind up which is the best fit for my swift. I mean I've read a bunch of online reviews which were pure pitch fests. They never even bother to mention the negatives. Don't get me started with amazon reviews they are even worse. After going through a bunch of convertible seats I've found a different blog. It seems that they actually try and tests the seats. At the moment I have shortlisted the evenflo and the graco brands. Can't really make my mind up. I've read this evenflo vs graco comparison and I'm stuck. Which one would you recommend?
