Writerly old bags

If any of you bags want into the Writer's EMF, PM me or if some random admin is hanging about reading this thread and wants in, just add youself.

The forum is going to be all types of writing, so if you're doing any serious research stuff for your graduate work (I know I'm not the only grad person here but not sure if anyone else is doing thesis work right now) and need some input, there will be several seasoned writerly and editorly people in the forum and I'm sure one of us would be happy to review your writings.

Kick ass art.

I told her that he can't even get the hurricane on the cover to spin the right way, and that's just the START of the problems with that movie. Needless to say the conversation with her went downhill from there." -- a meteorologist friend

I need to write quite a bit in the next two semesters and would like in. I used to write a lot of fiction but there is no time.

MM - you need at least 400 posts.

Unless you plan to write some sort of publishable material you should probably stick to posting for help on this board. The Writer's forum isn't for general papers and comp help; it's for publishable works and fiction. Like a writer's group. I mentioned graduate level papers because those are published by the universities (and sometimes professional journals) in which they're submitted.

I'm not trying to be mean; I'll be more than happy to help out on this board with papers and advice throughout the semester. I just don't think the private board is the right place for basic school papers.

I'll ask the members of the forum how they feel about it and what they would like to do.

I didn't think your original description was indicative of it being exclusively for graduate or professional level writings.

I've asked for members here to read my work and got a wonderful response. So if you would prefer to keep your EMF for its original purpose, that's fine because there is support here for anyone having difficultly with writing or simply seeking an opinion.

I would actually hope that those looking for help on just regular school papers would actually keep it here since helping each other out in that way is one of the purposes of this forum.

Those doing graduate level work are definitely on a slightly different level.
