Missing days

I have missed so many days of school already and today the baby woke up not eating and trying to throw up. So I called in because I know if I go mom will call me back because his blood sugars are high or he won't eat. Which is ok but I'm so worried I'm going to get in trouble for being absent so much.

How many courses are you taking? Did you e-mail the Professor(s)? I hope your son is feeling better. Click here to enlarge

That must be so hard, Dandy. Click here to enlarge Can you talk to the professor(s) and let them know you have a special needs child? Perhaps if you talk to them, they will be more understanding that you are doing everything you can but there will be times when it absolutely has to be you there with him. If nothing else, it will give them the opportunity to be upfront if it is going to cause issues.

Whenever I've gone into a meeting or class where profs insist that cell phones be turned off, I always talk to them privately to let them know I must have mine on (vibrant) because of my DD's situation. In turn, I do let them know that I will not be abusing that such as checking any other kind of message that is not 911 during class, etc.

Good luck. Click here to enlarge

Ummm... that would be vibrate although a vibrant phone might be nice, too. Click here to enlarge

If you're really open and upfront with your professor--send an email, so you have proof--then most professors will be very accommodating. Click here to enlarge

My professors practically bend over backwards to help when necessasry. The main thing is communication.

I have missed a ton this semester and my prof. is so understanding and tells me not to worry about it.

I have my cell phone on vibrate also in the class room. This is my only class. He knows my son is diabetic, I emailed him yesterday and no response. I know he was having problems with his email.

They have been really good about my attendance. I do not think it's part of my grade. Click here to enlarge I don't even know. It's just cold season and his numbers tend to be higher when he has a cold.

I don't think it will be a problem so much, yesterday I was freaking out. They haven't said anything yet though so we'll see...Thanks
