Getting my toes wet

I'm 99.9% sure I'm taking the EMT course at the college this fall. I'm just waiting on my funding approval from the local EMS unit who will pay for it.

I've been thinking for years I wish I would have done something along the lines of nursing, something in demand ( Click here to enlarge ) and I'm SO over working in manufacturing.

SO dh suggested giving the EMT class a whirl. Get my feet wet, see if I can handle blood and guts and shit ( literally ) before I move forward. I really think I'd like to take the nursing course. I think Click here to enlarge

So, baby steps. I'm scared to death. I haven't taken a college class in 18 years or better Click here to enlarge

I'm scared. Excited. But scared.

Coral, I can do the shit and vomit thing no problem, blood and guts is what kinda concerns me. I think I'd be ok, because I don't get faint or anything stupid like that, but I don't really know I guess Click here to enlarge

Lurkey, OMG, I am so freaking excited for you! Click here to enlarge I loved EMT school, and the clinicals are amazing. Click here to enlarge If you focus on what you need to be doing, more than likely, blood and guts won't bother you because you won't have time to be bothered. Click here to enlarge

pushing this back to January. After closely analyzing my kids damn schedules, dh's schedule and what would be my work/school schedule I think I'd be setting myself up for failure. My kids don't do a winter sport ( well Noah does, but in 3rd grade basketball is nothing more than practices really ), so I think Jan - May 2nd is a helluva lot more feasible. Kids do baseball in April but that whole month is just practices and they can ride their bikes to the field for that. * sigh * I think it's a better plan.

And I get to ride 3rd for the next few months on the ambulance to observe, so that's cool ! Click here to enlarge
