I know I am a rambly fuck but it helps to write all this out to process. Thinking long and hard, PA seems best for my family and there is an excellent and affordable program (less than 30k, OMG) in my backyard. I talked to the admissions director today and she said I would be a great candidate if I can rock the prerequisites and a bachelors degree and become a medic again. Oh, that's all?
So here are my goals:
Get confirmation from state I can pursue reinstatement, take a paramedic refresher, ACLS, ITLS, PALS, pass the damn tests again, and then find a PRN job.
Talk with CC advisors to plan an associate of science to meet all prerequisites and fullfill core requirements for which university I choose to attend.
Talk to the 2 universities I am interested to find out what core courses are needed for transfer, one is cheaper and closer but not as respected, the other is farther and more respected. The farther one has a public health degree that is to die for, but I don't know how practical it will be.
The PA admission counselor actually advised against hard science and tech degrees because they want people to have high GPAs, which is all well and good for me.
Okay, I can do this. I have to do this.
