Another successful event! We had 4700 walkers and 550+ crew. The weather was nice, and the rain held off until we began to walk into closing ceremonies. My Pit 1 Crew was fabulous, and I was so glad not to have a repeat of my bad crew experience in 2005.
We had a pajama party theme for the first 2 days, and were patriotic yesterday in celebration of Veteran's Day. On Day 3, I was the Pit greeter, so I got to hand out stickers and have a tad more interaction than the first 2 days where I was behind a table saying "oranges and bananas, bananas and oranges!"
Also, because we were Pit one, we got to spend 3 hours yesterday clapping in all the walkers. With the combo of cheering them in both morning and afternoon, I have completely lost my voice. As usual, my dh got stuck on an intersection until almost the minute closing ceremonies began, so despite doing 3 events together, we still haven't gotten to stand together at closing.
I am so ready to walk SF next year! So far, it looks like DH will do moto crew for SF and SD, and possibly the SF Avon walk. I need to decide soon whether I am going to do a 2nd event and crew San Diego next year too.
