Health Insurance Vent

I took Ryan to the doctor today to get his 2nd Hep B vaccine. Apparantly, he is not covered under my health insurance. They have no record of him Click here to enlarge

I am very upset. I filled out the paperwork and hand delivered it to human resources on October 2nd. They didn't type it and send it out until October 12th. Ryan was born on Sept. 18th. It should not have taken my work 10 days just to type and send up the paperwork.

What if something serious had happened? What if he needed medication.

Work assures me that they sent it up, but I am still really mad.

I had a problem like that after dd was born, my dh took care of it, and they covered her for all the time she was uncovered. Does that make sense?

YO!

We're going through the same bullshit right now. We followed all procedures to the "T" and sometimes the twins are showed on our coverage, other times they are not. Just recently the insurance told our ped that we cancelled coverage on the twins. No one else in the family, just the twins. Click here to enlarge

I'm doing it because she asked but I really do her.

Ugh! Don't even get me started. I am still haggling over charges from my dd's birth and she was born in January. They refused to cover "physician supplies" - $75 because a midwife delivered the baby. There are many other examples like that.

We also did everything right and dd wasn't covered at first. We started getting all of these bills and they told us there was no record of her. Once they put her in the system the covered her retroactively.

Click here to enlarge I also have BCBS and I'm very nervous about getting my pg bills. I have PPO (I have BCBS of Alabama but live in CA) so I've had to fight with them over all kinds of stuff already. I might add that I've been unsuccessful most of the time - caught between the doctor's office and the insurance, neither of which would budge. For me, it's usually just a coding discrepency but my doctor's office won't change theirs and the insurance won't accept the one they are using. Click here to enlarge

Turbo, I had a homebirth and I know for a fact that they are giving me a hard time because of that. My midwife is a preferred provider and sent a list of her charges to the insurance company at the beginning of my pregnancy. She said that everything that she charges for is within the scope of her certification. They are still fighting me tooth and nail Click here to enlarge They had no problem covering my hospital birth which was 5x the cost of this one Click here to enlarge
