my little lemon

He had his 2 month well baby visit today. Click here to enlarge He is longer and bigger headed and weighs 13 lbs something. This is actually a little less than he weighed two weeks ago but it was at a different place so she (his ped) isn't worried.

However he has been referred to physio for a neck muscle thing because his head is getting even crookeder. If this doesn't work or the physical therapist isn't hopeful he will get a little crooked-fixing baby helmet for his crooked baby head.

He also has been referred for an ultrasound and ortho consult because she feels a clicking in one of his hips. (I had hip dysplasia as a baby too.) Click here to enlarge

He has a urological ultrasound tomorrow and we are all praying that his one kidney shows to be totally functional and the flow looks totally fine so he can get off the antibiotics. His digestion is much better, either from my diet changes or the probiotics. It just sort of settled in the past 4-5 days.

He also got his two needles and an oral rotavirus vax today so he wasn't super happy about that.

But other than the hip and the skull and the kidney he's great. Click here to enlarge Smiling, cooing, eye contact, all the stuff babies are supposed to be doing.

Wow Yummy, the poor little guy has so much going on. Will be thinking positive thoughts for him. Do they know what is causing his head to be crooked? But its awesome to hear that he's making all those baby milestones. Click here to enlarge

she thinks he just has some tight neck muscles on one side. I am not too worried about either the hip or the head. I just want him off the damned antibiotics. Click here to enlarge

he screamed like he was being tortured the entire time. It was like holding him down for an amputation. Click here to enlarge The ultrasound tech lady kept assuring me that she wasn't hurting him.

We won't get the results until tomorrow or possibly monday however. Then we see the urologist earlier if there is a problem, or April 6 if everything is working as expected.

Oh no, of course he did poor guy. Click here to enlarge I'm sure he was just showing off his mad screaming skillz for the staff. How long did it take?

Fingers crossed that they are good and he can get off those meds.

still no results call. I hoped for it Thursday and I expected it Friday and I'm irritated that nobody has told us anything by now.

I called the ped clinic today and they said the dr wanted to talk to me herself and that she would call me today, that was about an hour ago. They did say not to talk him off the antibiotics. siiiiiiiigh. So it's not going to be a straightforward all clear no more antibiotics.

I think that totally sucks when you're worried about your child and they make you wait. Sometimes dr's offices suck. Hope you hear something today.

ok the ped STILL hasn't gotten a report from the ultrasound so she got the whole file andlooked at the images herself. His one kidney is still full of huge cysts but doesn't appear to be functioning at all (which is ideal, better to not work than to work poorly apparently in this case) but the other one is totally normal in appearance and we can stop the antibiotics! There are two Americas - separate, unequal, and no longer even acknowledging each other except on the barest cultural terms. In the one nation, new millionaires are minted every day. In the other, human beings no longer necessary to our economy, to our society, are being devalued and destroyed. -- David Simon

Click here to enlarge Do they expect his functioning kidney to compensate enough to give him overall normal function?
