Sleeping Patterns

Not really a chronic condition but not sure where to put this. Hoping someone can help. For years now I have been a morning person. Awake by at least 6 am, off on my hike by 8. I did stay in bed a disgustingly long time on Saturdays reading and watching TV.

Around Christmas, that all changed. I simply couldn't sleep. It's not unusual for me to be wide awake at 5 am and then I'm in a brain fog all day.

I have tried forcing myself not to nap, and I'm dead tired around 9 or 10 pm, and I head off to bed, then I'm wide awake. I have definitely gone more than 24 hours with no sleep and am fully energized physically, but mentally, I'm having small issues: can't think of a word, using the wrong word, forgetting appointments, etc.

Hi Dear,
I think you must consult a specialist. If it has been happening for a long time, it can even turn a big problem ahead! Having disturbed sleeping patterns seems and sound a really small thing but in reality, I ignored for a long time, can be highly dangerous as well! And causes a lot of damage at an individual level. Irritated personality can affect your relationships with other and it can soon be starting to affect your work life, as well! Anyway, it is not healthy for the body. Sooner or later your body will start to give up. I would suggest you if you have any stress or problems going on in life, then this can be an effect of that. Even if not, then try to stay positive and remain happy. Being positive attracts good vibes and your body starts to feel healthy by just being tricked into being happy! You would see it for yourself. I know it might seem easy said than done, but no prescribed medicine is going to be as effective as feeling happy from within will! You can even try some home remedies for inducing sleep. There are a few essential oil sprays that help with the same. Try spraying tea tree oil around you as you are planning on sleeping. Take a bath before you sleep and probably even go for a run after having your dinner. But most of all, you need to visit a doctor and discuss with him your sleeping issues. I hope you stay alright. Take care.
