My Dad even offered my sister and me $500 a year from age 18 to 21, if we didn't start smoking. So I lost $2000 AND I had to pay for smokes Click here to enlarge

Me too Pierced. I was 13 and caved in to peer pressure. I remember the first time I inhaled with my best friend. OMG we were so sick that we went to my house and laid on my and my sister's bunk beds. I wanted to puke. Blech. Why I ever continued after that is beyond me. Click here to enlarge

I first picked up smoking at school when I was 15, but really became a serious smoker when I was 18.

I smoked my first cigarette when I was 12, but didn't actually become a regular smoker until I was about 14.

I started smoking as an adult. I have smoked occassionally since I was a teenager, only when I was drinking. During my husbands last deployment, I was so stressed I started smoking when I wasn't drinking and it became the habit it is today. Now it has become my time-out, a nice little tree minute breather. That will be the hardest part to give up.

Me too, Soop. I never smoked another cigarette once I found out I was pregnant with any of my children. I quit for 4 years from July 1998 until June 2002. I quit again in April 2003, and started again this past October when my Uncle died. Yeah, I'm a dumPass.

I puffed on my first butt when I was 6. I was smoking a few a day when I was 8 or 9. I had permission when I was 12 (thanks jackass) and was smoking a pack a day then. I quit at 33.

I guess I'm the dumPest one here Click here to enlarge I didn't start until I was 26!! Click here to enlarge I smoked once in awhile when I was drinking when I was a teenager until I settled into married life and rarely drank anymore. The youngest kiddo was a year old when I started smoking regularly. I have no idea why I did it, but I like to blame it on DH and my, then, best friend since they are both pack-a-day smokers. I know I can't blame anyone but myself, but it helps sometimes to blame someone else Click here to enlarge.

I was 19 when I started. The company I worked for allowed smoking in the breakroom. There was no time during breaks to go outside, so I sat in there with about 30 smokers puffing away.

Every day when I would leave I felt like something wasn't right. My days off were like that too. Someone offered me one not too long after I left that job and it just seemed to be what I was missing. Click here to enlarge
