I've set my quit date for March 7 and I feel ready. I've purchased some patches and gum, warned my loved ones and co-workers, and bought a new pair of running shoes. In past attempts I've been a major league bitch to the point where even I can't stand being with me! This time, I'm prepared. I'm going to walk off my frustration and cravings.

Cancer is a word not a sentence.

It absolutely worked for me. I didn't use patches or gum, etc. I did gain a lot of weight, though. Click here to enlarge Click here to enlarge

I think having the date set lets you really mentally prepare. It is a huge change for you to go through. I had tried to quit probably dozens of times last year. I'd decide that the pack I was on would be my last pack. I just could't last more than a day that way, though.

I recommend picking a date far enough ahead that you have time to really get used to the idea. Think of it like an appointment with yourself to rid yourself of smoking.

What is your date going to be?
