I want to quit, but I don't want to

I started smoking again - after 4 1/2 years - when I was hospitalized in December.

I have a nasty, constant cough all the time. I stink. My hair stinks. My kids have to put up with it (I don't smoke around them but the smell - and chemicals - linger)

I can't take Wellbutrin this go-round. I don't know where to start.

Start slowly if you have to--can you do nicotine replacement therapy? I've been chewing nicotine gum and it helps a lot--I use a straw or pen to give me the sensation of holding a cigarette. You can do it! Just don't put too much pressure on yourself and if you quit but start back don't consider it a failure--consider it a learning experience!

Thank you

I was just going to ask the same question....

I just started a high pressure job and I have quit many bad habits. I have recently lost 85.6 pounds and I want to lose more..

I need to quit smoking ! I hate it but between all of us here .. nicotine and caffine are what keeps me sane so if anyone has more advice please... feel free! And thank you for your advice.

I would start by writing down how you feel after a cigarette; maybe keep a notebook near where you come back into the house?
You'll start seeing a pattern and then you could make more of a decision from there.

Patches, baybee. If I was smart, I'd have stuck with the patches too. Click here to enlarge
