Friday 1/6 Check-In

I found myself thinking about smoking, more like obsessing, this morning. I guess it comes in waves. One minute I'm ok, and walking with my head up, proud to be a NON-smoker. Then the next minute, it's all I can do not to give in. Just knowing this is normal is helping me through.

All I know is last time I quit (for 2 years!) I went through the SAME thoughts, feelings, urges, obsessions we are all going through now...and I survived! This will get better. I know it!

I smell so good now Click here to enlarge

My whole first day, I kept smelling ass. I was thinking I had some seriously kickin breath and kept brushing my teeth and eating mints. Sometime that evening, DS smelled it, too, and then DH. We figured out it was the dog and DD - they both had SBD gas, and I was around one or the other all that day.

I'm glad you are doing better today. Click here to enlarge

I will post my own update later on. I am tickered and I'm going to take a nap. Click here to enlarge

Yesterday I kept smelling piss. I went to school, did my thing, went back to MIL's and asked her if I smelled like pee. I was worried that someone or something had peed on my coat or something. By then the smell was gone. I guess it was something outside.

An amazing charity

Maybe our noses are getting more sensitive to smells now that we aren't blowing smoke out of them anymore?

Grace, I'm curious, if you quit for 2 years, why did you start back up? I am so nervous that being a nonsmoker will never come naturally to me. I'm afraid I will always have to work at it, and that it will be hard. So, after 2 years, you still wanted a cigarette? That scares me.

I forgot to check in yesterday. I took a long nap and when I woke up, I had to start dinner. Click here to enlarge

I did okay, though. Evening time is the hardest for me, and I'm trying not to eat everything in site.

I need to change my evening routine. I just need to figure out what I want to do besides smoke or eat.

I went out of town to visit a friend, and she smoked. Not a problem, until I started drinking Click here to enlarge Maybe it was that, and being in a new city, etc etc. I let my defenses down. (Plus I had a whole new demon that was starting up in me....long story)...so it is not typical. Being a non-smoker DID come naturally to me, it really did. I just had outside circumstances that now I'll just say are excuses Click here to enlarge

Don't worry...just take one day at a time...don't worry about the future Click here to enlarge
