As long as you snack on the right things, you may do alright. Taking walks when the crave hits not only clears your head, but it will help with your weight as well.

I, too, fight with the weight vs. smoking thing.

I am in a similar situation. I quit smoking on the 2nd, but I have a big event coming up where I don't want to be the big fattie.

My little sister is getting married in May and she's made me her MOH.

I had just about convinced myself to start back smoking so that I could focus on losing weight for my sister's wedding. I figured it would be better to be a less fat smoker, than a fat non-smoker. Click here to enlarge I know that's stupid, but I really want to not be the "fat one" in her bridal party.

So, I am doing both. I am a nonsmoker on a diet, now. Click here to enlarge It gets hard at times during the day, but I try to snack on healthy stuff when I really feel like I need to stuff something in my mouth.

One thing I have been doing, that I think is really helping is when I get an urge to smoke, I jump on my elliptical machine and work out for 5 or 10 minutes. Then I drink some ice cold water, suck on something really pepperminty and take deep breaths (it's almost like getting a drag off a menthol.)

I am also trying to eat 5 or 6 smaller meals a day instead of 2 or three big ones plus a ton of snacking in between. I'm still eating often enough, but I'm not filling up on the junk in between.

Anyway, I would totally go for the Biggest Loser challenge as well. If you win, you could get yourself a kick-ass dress for your new figure with the winnings. Click here to enlarge

You can do both!! If you are able to not have a cigarette when the cravings hit, you are able to not have junk when you are craving food.

I am cross-posting this in the fatty forum:

I am a freak. Click here to enlarge

I was on my treadmill, reading a book, as I usually do so as not to realize how fucking boring walking on a treadmill is, and the character in the book was talking about smoking, and I got the worrrrrrst craving. Mind you, I quit 12/22. I actually had to get off the hamster wheel and go get a piece of nicotene gum. Click here to enlarge Then I got back on and finished my mile. Click here to enlarge
