I smoked for 12 years (minus the 2 pregnancies and the 11 months of breastfeeding ). I quit on the eve of my 30th birthday. Cold turkey.

Smoke free since 3/17/07

I started smoking when I was 16. I never really picked up the habbit till I was about 24. I would smoke on and off here and there for months at a time. I smoke about 3 cigs a day, which doesn't sound too bad but I smoke newports. I don't know that I can stop.

2 - 3 cigarettes a day are good for making sure your metabolism doesn't get too slow. just make sure you smoke light cigarettes and it's ok.

Oh, and I had smoked consistently from 1995. Before then, it was an on and off thing.

Smoked for a year

I smoked for a year. Luckily, I was able to quit before I really got hooked.
