I quit Jan. 11, 2009. I smoked since I was about 15, so....19 years? Subtract 2 years from that, actually...I did quit once before. The hardest thing for me was being around others who smoked...it still is hard. My advice to you all reading this that want to quit, is that it IS possible to live without smoking! I promise you!! When you're a smoker and you're thinking about quitting, just the mere thought of living life without a cigarette is so hard to imagine. But you CAN be happy living life as a non smoker. :)

How long did you smoke? I had my first cig in 1979:faint and by the time 1981 rolled around, I was smoking every day.
What was the hardest thing about quitting? Changing my habits; plus STBX was supposed to quit with me and he didn't. He still smokes to this day.
Any advice for those wanting to quit? Just take it one craving at a time and don't give in to that craving; it'll pass in a few minutes. Drink a ton of water to get the nicotine out of your body. Try to switch up your routine and avoid triggers, like if you drank coffee and smoked, drink your coffee somewhere you can't smoke, that type of thing.
