MIZ!

In another thread you mentioned going to Babies R Us for a cradle mattress.

Was it a pretty standard item, or did they have a bunch of sizes to choose from?

I need to go buy a new one soon, but I couldn't find that at BRU online to check out first. Were they all about $20?

Click here to enlarge I WAS packing... but then my mom brought me dinner (my kitchen is being renovated so I can't cook right now) and she just left a while ago. My receipt is upstairs -- I will get back to you on the exact cost in a few, as I will be finishing up my packing tonight.

So far I have a going home outfit for baby, newborn diapers, extra pads & breast pads, a few granola bars & raisins & lollipops, 2 huge bottles of water, my cord blood collection kid and copies of my pre-admission paperwork packed. I was just starting to sort through nursing bras to pack when my mom came over before... so I am on my way.Click here to enlarge

I'm putting DD to bed in a few minutes and then will resume packing. But you know if I get totally packed that this kid will stay put until February, right?

OK, I had a chance to look at my receipt and I am sad to say that the vinyl cradle mattress was only $12.99.Click here to enlarge Which means I spent a lot more on other stuff I didn't know I needed.Click here to enlarge

The cradle mattress is 2" thick x 18" wide x 36" long. I am using a hand-me-down cradle. There is also another cradle (or bassinet) mattress that was also 2" thick but I believe it was only 15" wide and something like 25" long (I forget). I don't believe they had many sizes to choose from, and they only had standard size cradle sheets and bassinette sheets (and then there are porta-crib sheets, too).

OK, well...I'm back to packing now.Click here to enlarge I did manage to get in my nursing bras AND some undies... I just have to figure out a going home outfit for me now.Click here to enlarge Something stretchy in the waist for me.Click here to enlarge

JUst to warn you, cradles do come in different sizes, so make sure you know how big yours is.

Click here to enlarge Ok, that was a LOT of information. I'm glad you're packed though!

Guess I'll have to carry my lazy self down to my mom's and measure the cradle (she's refinishing it). I was hoping they were one size fits all. Click here to enlarge

Click here to enlarge It's truly out of sheer laziness. I'm at her house nearly everyday.

I'll call her for the measurements though. Click here to enlarge
