"elderly" pregnant moms (35+) who had their first when younger

I'm doing research Click here to enlarge for, uh, a project, and have some questions.

1. How old were you when you had your first, and if you're 35+, how old are you now?

2. Do you feel like this pregnancy is harder than the first? Easier?

3. Are you in better or worse shape (exercise, weight, etc) than your first?

Click here to enlarge Hmmm. A "project", you say. Purely hypothetical, no doubt. Click here to enlarge

ANYway, I'll play.

1. How old were you when you had your first, and if you're 35+, how old are you now? I was 33 when I had my first, and 41 now.

2. Do you feel like this pregnancy is harder than the first? Easier? I think it's harder because I AM older -- I know my energy level isn't quite what it was; plus I'm busier now.

3. Are you in better or worse shape (exercise, weight, etc) than your first? I think very slightly worse in terms of exercise/weight, but on the other hand I've been better about what I'm eating (pumpkin pudding notwithstanding) and have not gained nearly as much weight as I did the first two times.

Good luck with your, um, "project". Click here to enlarge

I was 30 when I had my first and 35 now.

2. Do you feel like this pregnancy is harder than the first? Easier?

I can't answer this yet as I am newly pregnant. I will say that my second pregnancy was way easier than my first.

3. Are you in better or worse shape (exercise, weight, etc) than your first?

I started out at the same weight, and I am still in pretty good shape. I probably did work out more before getting pregnant with my first, but I was a little neurotic about working out then.

These answers are probably not helpful at all Click here to enlarge Good luck!

I clearly do not qualify for this research, as I am a spritely 34. Click here to enlarge

But, if you want slightly skewed data - this has been the better pregnancy. I think part of it is that I am not freaked out by the changes that are happening to my body, I am really loving my big belly (even though I'm starting out about 25 pounds heavier), and I think my overall mental outlook is more positive. I'm more emotionally mature, as well, which I think changes my attitude.

Physically, it is almost identical to my pregnancy with Katie at 28.

I'm even more spritely than Stinky (33 1/2), but I'll answer anyway. First pregnancy at 27, second at 30, this third one at 33.

This pregnancy feels very similar to the previous ones. More tired and more cranky because being pregnant while taking care of two kids and a house is obviously harder than being pregnant with no kids and sleeping whenever you want, but I don't feel a major difference as a result of slightly "advanced" age or anything. I was 28 years old with my first
34 with my second
I'm now 37 and pg with number three

I feel about the same as I did with the others, only this time I have a needy 3 year old to take care of as apposed to a very mature 5 year old like last time, so I'm more tired and get less down time than with my second pregnancy. I don't have any other real issues, just some slight nausea.

Shape wise I'm about the same as with number 2. I weigh a bit more this time around, but only by a few pounds. My stomach muscles are much less forgiving this time, and I have this whole bloat belly thing going on, which is driving my nuts. That's about all.

Good luck!

I'm not 35+ yet but will answer too

I was 18 with my 1st, 23 with my 2nd, 27 (turned 28 5 days after birth) for 3rd & 31 now, will be 32 when she's born.

Out of them all, this one is more like 1st on active level .. easiest goes to my 1st but only because this lil one is low laying, if she was high like the other 3 she'd win for easiest & best pregnancy so far lol

1. How old were you when you had your first, and if you're 35+, how old are you now?

I was 33 when ds was born, and 38 when dd was born (43 now, and not expecting....just here checking up on Ypsi and I saw you had a thread here and Click here to enlarge)

2. Do you feel like this pregnancy is harder than the first? Easier?

The second was way easier, partially because I knew what to expect, I think. It was harder being more active with my ds while being pregnant, and it didn't help that we moved when I was 8 mo. along. I had lots of bh contractions with the second, but I doubt that was related to my age. Labor & del. much easier second time around.

3. Are you in better or worse shape (exercise, weight, etc) than your first?

I'd say I was about the same physically for both.
